Having thought that there has been immense disrespect, Indra (Sureśa) had sent them with anger.[1] Terrible lightening was shining in all the ten directions. The sky became dark and full (due to swollen clouds). Incited by strong winds, dark clouds were roaring loud and moving fast.[2]

You are the cat for [killing] the mouse in the form of delusion, you are the dispeller of worldly fears, you are the landing place (destination) of those who enable [others] to cross over [the ocean of life and death], and you assure safety [of your refugees].[1]

(The city of) Kāśi is his abode, and the likes of Animā (the eight siddhi) are his servants.[1] He gives away without thinking (whether somebody deserves it or not), and to add to it, He melts (with compassion) on little (service). He cannot stand the sight of any distressed (person) with folded-hands.[2]

Sample: There is nowhere a donor like Śankara. He takes pity on the miserable, He is fond of only giving away, and He always likes those who ask (for something).[1] After killing (burning) Māra (Kāmadeva), the foremost among warriors, Śiva established him (again) in the world. How can I describe the act of pity of such a Lord when He is pleased?[2]

He has three eyes which are filled with nectar, and He has a garland of skulls at his neck. Śiva stays naked and roams around blissfully with (His Consort) the fair-skinned Pārvatī.[1--2]
