rsi spoke:[2.1 In older times a battle between deva and asura happened for entire hundred years. In that battle the leader of asura was Mahisāsura and the leader of deva was Purandara Indra.[2.2] There, by the immensely strong asura, the army of deva was defeated. Having won all the deva, Mahisāsura became the (new) Indra.[2.3]
